Professional Installation

Although many of our products are easy enough to install for many people, Professional Installation is always recommended. We currently supply products to thousands of experienced mobile trim installers all across the nation. Call us at 1-800-521-1884 to see if we can set-up a professional installation in your area.

Once installed, please wait for at least a day of fair weather before any stress is put on the graphic or decal, such as car wash, driving over 80 mph, etc.

Caring for Your Graphic

Your new graphics have been produced from premium pressure-sensitive material. The vinyl requires little maintenance and should be treated similarly to a painted surface.

When Caring for your Graphic,

  • DO wash your graphics with plain soap and water or any commercially made car wash soap. Rinse thouroughly.
  • DO keep high pressure nozzles at least 18 inches from the edge of the graphics. High pressure spray may cause the edge of the graphic to peel.
  • DO test any cleaning solution on a small section of the decal before using. Be sure to read the solution's directions and warning notices that may apply to Vinyl Graphics.
  • DO be careful when using a snow scraper near the decal or lettering.
  • DON'T use any aromatic solvents such as acetone, M.E.K., toluene, paint thinner, or lacquer thinner on your graphics. Any solvent may soften the vinyl material or smear colors.
  • DON'T overcoat the graphics with clear paint.
  • DON'T let gasoline or other fuels drip or stay on graphics for any length of time. If a spill occurs, wipe off and rinse with water immediately.
  • DON'T paint over the graphics
  • DON'T apply wax over graphics. Wax products generally contain petroleum distillates, which can damage vinyl graphics. Wax that has dried along the edge of a graphic can be removed by softening it with rubbing alcohol and using cotton swabs.

Vinyl Removal Instructions

Removing vinyl can be an easy, 15-minute task or a tedious hour-long process. The size of graphic and time passed since installation are the biggest factors. Follow these steps to achieve the best results.

Removing Vinyl Graphics and Decals,

  • Take a thin plastic removal tool and use it to get under the vinyl. Once you can get a piece of it, slowly pull the vinyl off the surface. If the vinyl was recently applied then you may be able to pull off large sections. If the vinyl is old and brittle however, it will most likely come off in small pieces.
  • Once all the vinyl has been pulled off, you need to remove any remaining adhesive from the surface with an vehicle paint-safe adhesive remover. We suggest 3M's General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner.
  • Clean the surface with soap and water and check for any remaining vinyl or adhesive.
  • If you intend to apply new vinyl over the same location, be sure to clean it completely, then wipe it down with alcohol to insure that there is no adhesive remover is left on the surface.

FILE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Raster Image Formats:

  • Files with a minimum of 75 dpi at full scale are suggested. (150 dpi at 1/2 scale, 300 dpi at 1/4 scale, etc.) Note: If a close viewing distance is intended, build the file at a higher resolution.
  • Flattened TIF and Photoshop files are encouraged. Layer effects and fonts may not be translated as intended by our computers.
  • JPEG files generally work for projects with a 15 ft. or more viewing distance.
  • RGB is accepted but CMYK results in higher accuracy when matching colors.

Vector Art Formats:

  • Vector based artwork can be enlarged indefinitely while retaining sharp lines, clean edges and consistent color.
  • All text MUST be converted to outlines before sending to ensure accuracy and to avoid font conflicts.
  • Outline paths, rather than use strokes, whenever possible.
  • Any images placed within the vector file must adhere to the guidelines stated above.
  • A vector file must be included when a printed large format graphic needs to be cut in any way other than a basic shape.

Colors and Color Matching:

  • Files may be submitted in CMYK or RGB. You may also include PMS colors in your graphics (Coated palettes only). Although PMS colors will be run as 4-color process, keep them as spot colors in your documents to ensure a more accurate match.
  • When it is absolutely critical to match a color, provide a physical sample for us to reference. Please note that approximate matching of any one color requires additional time and resources, and an additional charge may apply. We cannot guarantee that the colors on your final print will match the colors produced by your monitor or printer.
